I spend four hours last night trying to figure out why an XSL stylesheet of mine wasn’t outputting anything. This link about default namespaces and XSL finally saved my life. Perhaps it will save yours.

New Version of MyStats!
I just deployed a new version of MyStats (really need to think of a better name). The main feature this time around is the concept of “authorized reporters”. What this means is that not just anyone can report how you’re doing–it has to be someone you’ve designated ahead of time. There are also lots of other bits and bobs.
I learned something pretty painful about has_and_belongs_to_many today that I’ll have to share in a future post. Let’s just say that the bottom line is you don’t want to let rails figure out anything on its own–you’re much better off just specifying everything explicitly yourself.
